TikTok Ad Account Set-Up: Step-By-Step Guide

Is TikTok good for marketing? With a billion active monthly users, how could the answer be no? Because of TikTok’s massive audience, many companies are starting to advertise on TikTok. Advertising on a new platform may seem like a big hassle but getting started is fairly simple. This step-by-step guide will show you how to set up your account and get started with advertising on TikTok, even without the help of a TikTok ads agency. Let’s get into it.

8 Steps to Setup a TikTok Ads Account

1. Download the app

The first step to creating your TikTok business account is to download the app on a mobile device. You can find the TikTok app on Google Play and the App Store.

2. Create a TikTok account

Next, you’ll need to create an account on the platform itself. You can create your account directly through the mobile app or you can opt to use their website. If it’s easier, you can create your TikTok ad account using an existing Facebook or Google account.

You’ll be asked to provide some basic information such as your name, age, email address, and profile picture. Use your logo or a product photo as your profile picture to show off your branding. Once your TikTok business account is up and running, you’re ready to start setting up your ad account.

3. Set up Ads Manager

After creating your business account on TikTok, you need to set up a TikTok ads account with Ads Manager so that you can create and manage your ad campaigns. You can find Ads Manager on the left-hand side of the TikTok home page. Click on it and you’ll be taken to the dashboard where you can start creating and managing your ad campaigns.

4. Set up Your Payment Options

To be able to run ads through your TikTok ads account, you’ll need to set up your payment options so that you can pay for your ads. You can add a company credit card, PayPal account, or other payment methods to your Ads Manager in order to make payments.

5. Create an Ad Campaign

Once you have your payment information set up, you’re ready to create an ad campaign. You’ll be asked to provide details about the type of ad you plan on running, your target audience, your budget, and any other information that will help you reach the right people with your message.

6. Set Up Ads

Now that you’ve created an ad campaign, it’s time to set up your ads. Select the type of ad (image, video, or carousel) you want to run. Choose a relevant creative format, enter your ad copy and website URL, and set a budget.

7. Launch Ad Campaign

Once you’ve finished creating your ad campaign and setting up the ads, you’re ready to launch it. Just click the “Launch” button located on the right-hand side of the Ads Manager dashboard and your ad will be live!

8. Track Analytics

Once your ad is live, track your analytics to measure the success of your ad. Analytics will provide valuable insights on what measures you can take in the future to improve your ads.
